"Hello." "Is that you Henry" I called at 12.35 when I woke up to use my commode and saw the light from Henry's office. "Yes, you old bat," came the reply. "How about a glass of champagne and some strawberries?" "Lovely" I said and thus started my 60th birthday.
Thought I may as well open my cards received on 11 November and pressie from Sally Young. I mean I had already had 2 hours sleep! I had a card from my school friend Gwen who lives in North Harrow and Uncle Geoff in Manchester. Even my ex-hubby Roger and his wife Jane who are on holiday in Portugal sent me a card and voucher which was a nice thought. It's funny cos I remember getting engaged to Rog on my 21st birthday (which was also a Wednesday) and had to stay up till midnight before I got the ring on my finger! I can't believe 39 years have gone by since then - frightening thought!
The champagne I am drinking was a pressie from Joyce and George Atkinson - Joyce and I worked together at Brooke North, lovely woman. It's Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin - lovely!!! Henry is having Mexican strawberries from M & S but I get heartburn so just on the champas! Henry is also eating a pykelet - that man can eat anything at any time bless him!!

My 14th Wedding Anniversary
The day started well with Henry giving me a lovely card which said "I am going to kiss you for every year we've been together" on the outside and on the inside he had put 10 kisses - somehow he had lost 4 years!
Henry made breakfast - fried potatoes, tomatoes, fried bread, bacon, eggs and black pudding (just for him). Mrs Bear did the ironing whilst watching Loose Women! Then I watched a recording of the Xtra Factor from last Saturday - disgusting that Laura was voted off - she should have won the competition. The British public have no idea how to vote - they just vote for people with sob stories (i.e. Daniel and Rachel) - it's a singing competition for God's sake! The same situation is applying to Strictly Come Dancing. We all love John Sargeant but he can't dance! I think me and Henry should enter a competition next year - we may as well - I mean we can't sing or dance but we would probably get votes the way things are going!
To round off the day Henry had got the £10 special meal from M & S. It was Moussaka with Country Vegetables, bread and butter pudding and a bottle of Merlot. Marvellous. My ex has it every week, the M & S special that is.
